You will return to where you started from Of all who could have been you are the kid And then was thrown into the howling noise Whose life will come to represent seven You are the moment thought became a sound It flows not straight but curves along an arc It flows not straight but curves along an arc You will return to where you started from You are the moment thought became a sound Of all who could have been you are the kid Whose life will come to represent seven And then was thrown into the howling noise And then was thrown into the howling noise It flows not straight but curves along an arc Whose life will come to represent seven You will return to where you started from Of all who could have been you are the kid You are the moment thought became a sound You are the moment thought became a sound And then was thrown into the howling noise Of all who could have been you are the kid It flows not straight but curves along an arc You will return to where you started from Whose life will come to represent seven Whose life will come to represent seven You are the moment thought became a sound You will return to where you started from And then was thrown into the howling noise It flows not straight but curves along an arc Of all who could have been you are the kid Of all who could have been you are the kid Whose life will come to represent seven It flows not straight but curves along an arc You are the moment thought became a sound And then was thrown into the howling noise You will return to where you started from You are the kid whose arc will follow seven You are the sound that came back from the noise

The sun will stay fast asleep as I ride down the I-290 East Morning rain to the factory The FM voice stops to say That the world could collapse under its weight Glad I got some work today Do you wonder if everything will be alright? 'Cause I wonder have we woken up on the wrong side? The wrong side….said please don’t lie Are we on the wrong side of the empire’s divide? The evening sun has made its bed As I ride up the I-290 West Something else but I forget Do you wonder if everything will be alright? Cause I wonder have we woken up on the wrong side? The wrong side….said please don’t lie Are we on the wrong side of the empire’s divide?

Yet again, yet again, yet again Well I drove by the stream past the pylons in rows Under white winter light where the old smoke still grows By the bridge in the town I am letting it down And putting my pages deep in the ground O stuck in a cycle — Axe, hammer and ball The detouring turn of just dropping them all O stuck in a cycle — O infinite wait Of the infinite spiral: Life, falling in the way Yet again, yet again, yet again I once thought of the future like fate lines in palms I once thought that fortune was destiny’s alms But just like a river that frozen still moves It’s better to face it before it faces you O stuck in a cycle — Axe, hammer and ball The detouring turn of just dropping them all O stuck in a cycle — O infinite weight Of the infinite spiral: Life, falling in the way Yet again, yet again, yet again (Yet again….) My believing Is leaving me

To know it won’t go quite the way that you’ve planned it It moves you to ask if there might be a chance Yet to hold onto hopes still of finding a planet Though trial and error throws dust on your jacket It doesn’t take the stars or their glimmering dance O to know it won’t go quite the way that you’ve planned it Time measured in loss, magma to granite Makes it harder to find than it was at first glance Where to hold onto hopes still of finding a planet Do the wings of your flight move by judgement or habit? Do the moons of your night glow with truth or romance? But you know it won’t go quite the way that you’ve planned it So why carry on making marks on your ballot And strive with no end for a way to advance And to hold onto hopes still of finding a planet? Guess it’s the need of the Earth to reach for the gamut To be guided by the signs found in each circumstance And to know it won’t go quite the way that you’ve planned it Yet to hold onto hopes still of finding a planet

I dreamt I left the house one silent dawn I walked right through the door one silent dawn The street and world were empty as I walked across the lawn A sound caught me off guard out from the far suburban wall A cardinal on the ledge Sending out a call But looking ‘round I was concerned the day Yes looking ‘round I was concerned the day Was evidence that everyone had vanished all away And then I swore I heard a stranger from that distant wall But there was no one there Just the cardinal’s call When I woke up I thought to go out there O when I woke up I thought to go out there The first time in a hundred days that I had breathed the air And as I walked out upon the grass my mind was on that wall Hoping I would see you there From the distant wall Hoping I would see you there Sending out a call

So we find our lives will be a year or two from now Salt the streets past all the signs that tell us where we were I believe they didn’t have much work for me today Drive back home though covered up the road is always there Wonder how the powdered sugar boulevard is long Wonder how they didn’t have much work for me today So we find though covered up the road is always there Drive back home past all the signs that tell us where we were Salt the streets the powdered sugar boulevard is long I believe our lives will be a year or two from now I believe past all the signs that tell us where we were Wonder how the powdered sugar boulevard is long Salt the streets though covered up the road is always there So we find our lives will be a year or two from now Drive back home they didn’t have much work for me today Drive back home though covered up the road is always there I believe our lives will be a year or two from now So we find the powdered sugar boulevard is long Wonder how they didn’t have much work for me today Salt the streets past all the signs that tell us where we were Salt the streets the powdered sugar boulevard is long Drive back home they didn’t have much work for me today Wonder how our lives will be a year or two from now I believe past all the signs that tell us where we were So we find though covered up the road is always there So we find though covered up the road is always there

Then stepping out from my old car I pointed to the sky afar Where two bright flecks were fixed in air As if a big and smaller star I did not give it too much care You told me later that the pair They were two planets in the sky I was completely unaware And had I known I think that I Would then have stared with focused eye But life is quick though days are slow Tonight there’s food we need to buy You find our masks so we can go The future changed now ever so And there are worlds we’ll never know And there are worlds we’ll never know Millenia... Millenia... Millenia...

Ghost World 03:41
You feel you’ve seen this before just like a ghost This town is losing ground and you are the most What are you gonna do now? What can you say? Sidestep every mess that you’ve made as you walk away Up above the power lines entwine So what? It’s the end of the line, you’ve known it a while Won’t wait for the end of the world to change up your mind, not this time Sun fades out with all that’s behind as you cross that street Dead store signs light up the night and you take a seat Waiting for that one-way wind to blow So what? It’s the end of the line, won’t change your mind, not this time The headlights near Your last time here Before you disappear So what? It’s the end of the line, won’t change your mind, not this time Who knows where this will go as the places you knew, they fade from view Street lights on the bridge through the dawn And you’re already gone

When I was waiting for results in bed Preparing for the worst I had a fear That I might have to go alone instead Of risking chaos of my staying here When you walked past the store before you called Where in a cage two parakeets beguiled And on the glass in sharpie black was scrawled “Must go together” and a heart, you smiled Today the snow fell down for just an hour Almost as if the winter came and went While you were in the kitchen or the shower I thought about that photo that you sent I thought about “must go together,” heart I hope we never have to be apart I hope we never have to be apart

Carbon Sky 04:21
Planes above move across the carbon sky You know how I feel and it’s real So don’t you turn and fade away Breathe and look at me You are everything Sun or flame, whichever light returns again You know how I’ll feel ‘till the end So don’t you turn and fade away Breathe and look at me Believe in what I see Breathe and look at me You are everything Planes above move across the carbon sky

about

This album is my own personal rite of passage. It is messy and imperfect and a document of a two year labor of love, a time of reflecting, reevaluating, and a lot of learning.

During the early fall of 2020, Jake and I had found that we were both going through a similarly significant period of creative stagnation and uncertainty. So, in late September of that year, we decided to hold each other accountable to writing and producing our own individual albums and seeing them through to the very end. Two solitary endeavors, pursued side by side. Each week we would virtually check in on each other’s progress and give feedback and encouragement, from songwriting, to demos, to mixes and masters. “The Workshop,” as we called it, continued steadily on for two years until our albums were finally finished in late June of 2022. The time it took us to complete this project shows how difficult the process was for us, but finishing feels like a big achievement. These are DIY albums in every sense of the word. This music would not exist without Jake, so I dedicate this album to him. And also to my loving Megan, who many of these songs are about! SPECIAL THANKS TO:
Jake for the weekly feedback and unending support in making this possible!
Megan for the critiques and love!
